Becoming More Aware of Sensations

Today’s discussion (or lesson) is on sensations and becoming more aware of sensations. This is the first step to being more sensitive to energy and information via the spiritual realm.The primary step is to be aware of your feelings.

Feelings are the translation of an emotion to the psyche. It is a mechanism the physical ‘you’ uses to interpret what is going on around you and within you. It is the primary method available to all humankind.  Being aware of your feelings is the first step in becoming more aware. Becoming more aware is the first door that opens when you are wanting to take that inward journey; the journey of understanding who you really are.

The next step is becoming tuned into your physical senses, such as seeing, tasting, touching, hearing, smell. The other is to tune into and be aware of your thoughts and impressions.

There is a migration of awareness.  Some of these mechanisms are used for communication and messages.mSome of them are used similarly to just interpreting information around you. Just like an artist or an athlete does, you need to practice. A person can do the same. You tune in and be aware of those sensations and when those sensations become triggered. 

For example, when you sit in meditation, you may have the sensation of expanding out of your body. You feel a physical sensation of change. The spirit is expanding out of the boundaries of the body and your physical self “feels” that change in some of the sensory cells in the body. The body reports a sensation.Sometimes an image will come to your mind as well.  Sometimes the image is a message. Sometimes the image is what is actually occurring.

So how can a person become more sensitive and aware? First; notice your feelings.  Every chance you get you can say “what am I feeling right now?”

When you feel a new emotion coming on, or your emotion changes, think “what am I feeling now? Why? or Where is this feeling coming from?”

In moments of pensiveness, stillness, quiet times, or times when you are meditating, go inward.  Visualize your spiritual self. Visualize your spiritual body. Visualize your chakras. Visualize your Higher Self. While you are reviewing this, tune your thoughts into the sensations that are part of that spiritual realm.

This is the first step to being more sensitive to subtle, spiritual energy and the information and messages you can obtain via the spiritual realm.
