Lesson on Becoming More Aware of Sensations

The first step to being more sensitive to spiritual energy and spiritual information via the spiritual realm is to become more aware of these sensations.

The primary step is to be aware of your feelings. Feelings are the translation of an emotion to the psyche. It is a mechanism the physical ‘you’ uses to interpret what is going on around you and within you. It is the primary method available to all humankind.  Being aware of your feelings is the first step in becoming more aware. Becoming more aware is the first door that opens when you are wanting to take that inward journey; the journey of understanding who you really are.

The next step is becoming tuned into your senses; seeing, tasting, touching, hearing, smell.The other is being tuned into your thoughts and impressions.There is a migration of awareness.Some of these mechanisms are used for communication and messages.

Some of them are used similarly to just interpreting information around you.

With practice, a person can tune in and become more aware of these sensations, just like an artist or an athlete does. Then an awareness develops as to what and why a sensation became triggered. 

For example, when you sit in meditation, you may have the sensation of expanding out of your body. When this occurs, you feel a physical sensation of change. Your spirit is expanding out of the boundaries of the body and your physical self “feels” this change. Some of the sensory cells in the body and then reports a sensation has been initiated or triggered. Sometimes an image may come into your mind and sometimes the image is a message.  Sometimes it is what is actually occurring.

So how can a person become more sensitive and aware? First; notice your feelings.  Every chance you get and remember; you can say “what am I feeling right now”.

When you feel a new emotion coming on, or your emotion changes, think “what am I feeling now, why, or where is this feeling coming from?”

In moments of pensiveness, stillness, quiet times, or times when you are meditating, go inward.  Visualize your spiritual self. Visualize your spiritual body. Visualize your chakras. Visualize your Higher Self. While you are reviewing this visualization, tune your thoughts into the sensations that are part of this review of that spiritual realm. This is the first step to begin a journey of expanding your awareness and consciousness.
