I live in a bedroom community not far from the Bay area of CA. Most of the excitement we have this side of the hill tends to be when a new place to eat opens up. Recently a new In-and-Out Burger place came to town and it took an hour to go through the drive through for the first couple of weeks. This burger place fits nicely near the other fast food places; McDonalds, Wendy's, Taco Bell, A+W, Kentucky Fried, and Burger King. Yes, we have them all.
But we also lost some restaurants recently, too. Yan Can Cook is now gone, along with Monsoon Masala Indian Restaurant, and Red Brick Pizza. BUT, what is coming in its place is Na Ma Sushi (one of our favorite Sushi places) AND Zachary's Pizza, which undoubtedly is the BEST pizza available in the bay area!
So all in all, when it comes to fine dining in the burbs, we are still moving forward. Slowly, sure. But at least we are moving.
